Entry List For The Telcel-Motorola Mexico 200 Set

This is an interesting entry list to look at. There are some big names and not so big names, and some interesting driver/owner pairings.

Of special note, take a look who Boris Said is driving for - nope not Jack Roush, but Ray Evernham. Could you imagine Roush's state of mind if Said were driving a Toyota instead of a Dodge? He probably would pull all support of Said's No Fear Sobe team right then and there.

Canadian road ace Ron Fellows is driving one of the Harvick owned entries. That might prove to be an interesting pairing to say the least. It would be nice to see him, Scott Pruett, Boris Said, and Juan Montoya all fighting for the lead at the end of it.

Aside from the obvious fact that the race is in Mexico, another thing that I found interesting is the number of Latin American drivers now being picked up by some of the larger teams since Juan Montoya is now with Ganassi. For example, Adrian Fernandez is racing for Hendrick and Michel Jourdain Jr. is racing for Roush. I don't think these teams would have been so ready to put a Latin American in their cars if Juan Montoya wasn't as good as he is. If things were a little different, and based on their relationship, I think Jack Roush would have had Boris in his car instead.

Finally, one entry that you might be interested in watching is the #0 Chevrolet driven by John Fitzpatrick. John is an 18 year old Canadian from Cambridge Ontario Canada who, along with his father, was a regular on the CASCAR Circuit (now NASCAR Canadian Tire Series) last year driving the #84 Milwaukee Electric Tools Chevy. Not much information can be found on him, except the fact that he is the 2006 CASCAR Champion and the team he drove for won the Championship 5 years in a row with driver Don Thomson Jr.; his Fitzpatrick Motorsports teammate. Thomson (Home Hardware Chevy) won five consecutive CASCAR National championships between 2001 and 2005 - and now Fitzpatrick has added to the team's winning streak.

The pictures are of Fitzpatrick and the top one from CASCAR.com while the bottom one is TSN.com.

CASCAR is a good bang em up series. Reminds me of NASCAR's roots. I bet you and me and a only handful of people could even talk about CASCAR let alone know about it lol lol lol

I won't won't disagree it would be nice to see those drivers in the fight, however you have discounted one driver that, barring being taken out, will finish in the top five if not win outright.

Marcos Ambrose. He has more road racing time than most of the field combined and the Woods Bros team has appeared to have turned the corner.

tiredawg...count me in as being pat of that "hand." Growing up in Detroit I go back to the days of Earl Ross, Joe Ruttman, Bob Sennecker, and Jack Monaghan tearing up Cayuga in the mid-seventies.

BTW, if Ambrose wins in Mexico I won't say I told you so.

MUCH!
