"I'm Still Standing, Better Than I've Ever Been"
First of all, Happy Anniversary to me, I've been blogging on this site for One Whole Year! Oddly enough it was one year exactly on May 18th which was on NASCAR Fan Day.
Since that insignificant first post I have had more than 33,500 visitors, been written about in several on-line newspapers, have been picked up as a suggested blog by USA Today's web page and about 20 television and news station web pages (all in the USofA), won two separate blogging awards, have been accused as being part of a DEI conspiracy to get Dale Jr out of the 8 car in order to put Jeffrey Earnhardt in it, and been offered to be part of an ABC news story about NASCAR fans (which I sadly had to decline due to personal commitments).
Well, things just keep happening, and today I got an email from the AT&T News Department. What was it all about you ask? Well let me show you, its a flash morph of Jeff Burton's car from the Cingular ride to the AT&T ride:

Also, I got this nifty cool picture (from the flash) of the new Jeff Burton car (click on it to enlarge):

"AT&T Inc. has announced that a United States district court judge has given AT&T the green light to re-brand the No. 31 race car it has sponsored with NASCAR since 2001.
Judge Marvin H. Shoob of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia, granted AT&T’s motion for preliminary injunction in its suit against NASCAR, giving AT&T the immediate right to put its logos and brand marks on the No. 31 race car.
The No. 31 car has been sponsored by Cingular since 2001. Cingular was founded as a joint venture between AT&T and BellSouth, with AT&T holding majority ownership of the company. Following the completion of AT&T’s acquisition of BellSouth last December, Cingular is now wholly owned by AT&T and the Cingular brand is being transitioned to AT&T.
Earlier this year, NASCAR rejected a transitional plan to change the paint scheme and introduce the AT&T logo on the car. After lengthy, but unsuccessful, negotiations, AT&T filed suit against NASCAR last month and sought preliminary injunctive relief to expedite placement of AT&T brand marks on the No. 31 car.
The No. 31 car is owned by Richard Childress Racing and driven by veteran Jeff Burton. Currently, Burton ranks second in the 2007 NASCAR Official Driver Standings." -source ATT.com.
After posting this I guess I can also be accused of being part of the AT&T plot to bring NASCAR to its 'sponsorship kissing' knees.
Ah, no rest for the wicked - 'wickedly cool' that is.
Take Care All.

Gravypan: wouldn't you like to know - let's just say my retirement is set. To be honest, I have none, but I wouldn't mind it if they sent some my way - free of charge of course.
