This Is Why I Like Greg Biffle
Craig Shemon and James Washington asked Greg if taking away Carl's win at Vegas may have been in order...
Greg's reply was : "I can assure you one thing. If they took the win away from these guys instead of penalizing them points and money, I'm pretty sure that you would see a lot less penalties and fines and money. They have kind of set the precedent that they don't take the win away, they just fine you whatever points you earned for winning technically, and fining you money. That is a good question why years ago they decided that's the way that they were going to do it. But I certainly think that they could change it and say, "Listen, for 2009, or whatever, some certain infractions can be a fine or penalty that aren't severe, but if its severe enough we are going to take the win away.""

I'm with The Biff on this one, start taking wins away and we'll see how quickly things change. I'm also happy to see Greg not tow the company policy of not saying anything about it because it concerns you teammate. Greg is calling out his own teammate and team owner by making this statement. I hope Carl does not pull one of his 'I'm going to punch you' acts like he did with teammate Matt Kenseth late last season.
We were having a conversation at work about taking away wins for cheaters and most people involved in the discussion agreed with what Greg had to say.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the "not take the win precedent" was set at the Firecracker 400 at Daytona on July 4th 1984 where Richard Petty got his 200th win when he beat Cale Yarborough by mere inches with President Reagan in attendance.
After all the 'bigness' of the event where Richard won his unprecedented, and probably never equaled, 200th race while having the President of the USA in attendance, it would have been public suicide for NASCAR to take the win away from Petty even though they found out he had an illegal motor in his car. Instead they took back his prize money and his points, but he was allowed to keep his win.
I think it is about time for NASCAR to set another precedent in this area and start taking away wins for cheating.

The Biff is my new hero. Good for him. Maybe he feels like it's his team that will get cut when they have to go to 4 so he doesn't care what he says.
