I wonder how many people will actually 'get' it.

I must confess that I am truly frustrated over the bailout of GM and Chrysler and soon to follow Ford. There is one main problem with the American car companies and that is three letters..UAW. You have people working the lines that get paid over $70/hr and we wonder why American cars are so expensive and to be honest, the quality just isn't there.
Now you talk about Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan, well they do not have the UAW. They do have a union but it is run completely different and their people are making around $40hr. along with great benefits.
I do not make close to what UAW people do and that is one thing that really makes me sick about how greedy they are when it comes to their contracts. We all work hard for our money but it is the American auto makers that have caused this problem and now the US government is going to rescue them vice having them file for bankruptcy. This is only a band aid and I really do not see them making a turn around. I know it would be a severe blow to the economy if they all filed for bankruptcy so it is just another reason the UAW needs to get their acts together. Oh, and maybe next time the big three CEO's come asking for money, they will fly on Southwest airlines, they do have a buisness class fair and it is no where near $20,000. Just saying.

The union has created such an 'us vs them' attitude, auto workers don't seem to take the pride in their work all of those hokey commercials would lead one to believe.
The euro/asian makers seem to handle employee relations much better, and let their employees know that they have a vested interest in the companies (and of course their own) success.
