Based on what we saw in practice, I don’t mean to sound like I think Jeff Burton’s gonna win everything but that thing just looked stout. The 88 car looked like it could be a contender. Of course I’ll be watching the 14 but still.
All through Speedweeks I think there’ll be one name that keeps popping up up front: Jamie McMurray

I think this race (as always) is completely wide open
Daytona + No Points + Cool Temps = Lots of action. I can’t wait.

So what do you guys think?
Does Cope make it to lap 20?

Favourites don't win?
Looking at the last 9 years, I don’t know if I’d agree there.
Harvick, Junior, Smoke (x3), Hamlin and Jimmie…If Smoke and Junior aren’t favourites on a Superspeedway…I don’t know who would be?

I think there's been a lot of upsets
Harvick hasn’t won a points race sice 2007 so last year was an upset, Hamlin was a rookie when he won so nobody expected that and Jarrett’s win was a total shock.

Harvick
His last win WAS the 500 tho…
I was more referring to Junior, Smoke and Jimmie being considered favourites…although Jimmies was before the first title too…which is why I emphasized the Smoke and Junior…since they tend to hook up and do well at Superspeedways.

Good point
but when Jr won last he wasn’t the favourite to win – everyobdy just had high hopes of his running well with his new team. Even he was a little surprised to have won.
And if any of you are still claiming the ‘fix’ was in on that race go take another puff of your crack pipe, he won that thing fairly without anyone trying to throw it or having Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon under strict orders to get Jr to win at all costs.

But...
Junior is known for being strong on SuperSpeedways though…which is what would make him a ‘favourite’…at least in my eyes
Really though…restrictor plates are a crapshoot. Which is why I tend to take ‘the field’ if I bet em. Almost hit on like 36 to 1 last year with sadler and dinger up front til kenseth took the lead just before the rain.

Oh BTW
I didn’t have enough time to create an open thread so I just took my pre-race post and quickly re-vamped it for the open thread.
