"I Paid NASCAR Back By Winning" - Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch won a wild one in Phoenix Saturday night.  Kyle overcame a black flag penalty, a late pit road incident with teammate Joey Logano, and stormed from the 10th spot on the last re-start of the race with 10 laps to go all the way to front.  Kyle took the lead with 5 laps left and never looked back.

Kyle then proceeded to literally shred the back wheels off of the car doing one of his patent winning burnouts.

In his Victory Lane interview Kyle was heard saying that he had "paid NASCAR back by winning".  By his statement I'm assuimg that Kyle is aluding to the black flag penalty issued by NASCAR on Busch because he passed Keselowski before they reached the start-finish line during a re-start on lap 145.

Sorry I didn't get an open-race thread up for the race tonight but I'm sick as a dog.  I went and laid down on the couch to watch the race with my laptop nearby to get the thread posted and promptly fell asleep only to wake up just as Busch is passing Keslowski for the win.  I saw 5 laps of the whole entire race.

Look for the Sprint Cup Open Race Thread tomorrow folks - I've time delayed it.

Of Kyle’s gazillion wins across the three National series, I don’t think there is one more impressive than this one.

That being said, his having to come from behind was all on him. I’m a big Kyle Busch fan, but there is a time to Mickey Mouse around with a guy and a time not to. Kyle got so wrapped up in trying to screw up Keselowski’s race that he piled up ten cars.

Then, instead of just running the rest of the race straight since he clearly had a car that coulda won with two tires missing and the hood flopping around, he decides to keep it going by sassing NASCAR on the restart. I said it on Twitter (@RedChevy14) and I’ll say it here: Moral of the story, you don’t sass NASCAR.

Congrats to him. He’ll never admit to learning anything from the race, but I hope he did.
