Ouch.
Yikes, that was tough enough to watch the first time. What really gets me in that one, aside from Sadler’s chances literally going up in smoke, was Morgan Shepherd barrelling into the back of Leffler at near full speed. Did his spotter just not see the wreck or something? He said after the race he doesn’t have an engine for Homestead; I hope someone can help him out.
As for Leffler, it was good to see someone in this sport admit that a wreck was their fault. Sadler did give him plenty of room; he should have lifted up. Leffler looked pretty downtrodden during the interview. It really is unfortunate for Sadler that he won’t be able to compete for the championship, but at least Childress is keeping him in the #2 when he takes over KHI’s programs next year.
On a more positive note, it was nice to see Sam Hornish Jr. finally win in NASCAR! He’s had a rough year with no full-time ride, so that was great to see. And it sounds like Penske plans on running him full-time next year.

I agree with what you said about the Leffler interview
It is nice to see a driver ‘own it’ as it were. As for the big wreck I haven’t watched the DVR yet – I’ll be doing that a little later today. Perhaps he just might get a motor – I’ve seen big name teams loan experimental motors to other ‘poorer’ teams so those teams can make a race and they can get feedback on their motor without jeopardizing their own driver’s chances of winning.
