WWE Superstar John Cena accepts Carl Edwards invitation to become the Daytona 500 honorary starter.
Pro Wrestling superstar John Cena will wave the green flag as Honorary Starter of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26 at historic Daytona International Speedway. The WWE Superstar was invited personally by Carl Edwards during the Feb. 6th edition of WWE’s Monday Night Raw.
NASCAR Ranting and Raving has long championed the crossover appeal of wrestling and motorsports and Cena's participation further confirms it.
Cena will waive the green flag on the race live on FOX at approximately 1 p.m. EST.

Neat personal story.
I had just scheduled an interview with Hermie Sadler concerning the crossover appeal between pro wrestling and racing when Cena was announced.
Look for some exclusive content with Sadler and Cena in the coming weeks.
