Quick Review of Some of This Year's Most Talked About NASCAR Stories

Another NASCAR season is in the record books and Jimmie Johnson is left at the top of the heap. Not only is Johnson a four –time winner of NASCAR’s biggest title, but he won all four in consecutive years.
Only three other drivers (Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt Sr., and Jeff Gordon) have ever won 4 or more Championships but none of them have ever done it in four straight years.
What an amazing feat that Johnson and his crew have accomplished by winning their record setting 4th championship in a row – we witnessed history in the making this year that’s for sure.
Other big stories this NASCAR season included Tony Stewart’s break-out performance as an Owner/Driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s lack-luster performance, the ‘Big Ones’ at Talladega, and Mark Martin’s almost-Championship drive.

NASCAR's Championship Weekend Is Here - Who will win it all?
Oops, this was supposed to be posted Friday. I must have did something wrong when I set the publish date. Sorry. NASCAR’s Championship weekend is finally here. All three of NASCAR’s top series finish up this weekend. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series crowned Ron Hornaday as their Champ last week, but the 4-time Champ is still looking to sew-up the Owner’s Championship this weekend so if you think ol’ Ron will be strokin’ it out there Friday night you’ve got another thing coming. As far as the NASCAR Nationwide Series goes all Kyle Busch has to do is essentially start the race and the Championship is his and don’t expect him to be strokin’ it either as that cat goes for the win all of the time. In fact he might even be more dangerous out there than usual as he’s got nothing to loose by giving it all or nothing for that final race and win of the season.

Things Better Left Unsaid: Drivers will put the brakes on comments
Mark Martin, driver of the No. 5 Pop-Tarts / CARQUEST Chevrolet, heads to the finish line after being involved in an incident on track during the green-white-checkered finish of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday in Talladega, Ala. It is a triple-header race weekend as all three of NASCAR's top racing series will be battling for the checkers at Texas Motor Speedway.
Speaking of battles, did you see the carnage at Talladega last weekend?
Two huge wrecks within the last 10 laps capped off an otherwise lacklustre race, which was won by the soon-to-be-unemployed Jamie McMurray.

Talladega brings challenges and the Jr. Nation gets upset
We go from last week's race at one of the shortest tracks on the circuit in Martinsville to one of the longest and fastest tracks in Talladega this week.
We all remember what happened last time the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series went to Talladega, right?
While leading the race, Carl Edwards tried to block Brad Keselowski coming through the tri-oval to the finish line and ended up going airborne and flying into the catch fence while spewing debris in all directions, including into the crowd.

All eyes on Johnson's #48 car at Martinsville

The question headed into the race at Martinsville Speedway this week is: "Will Jimmie Johnson tighten his grip on a record-setting fourth consecutive Sprint Cup Championship?"
I don't care what you say about Johnson, you can't deny that he dominated the race last week in Charlotte N.C., at the track sponsored by the same company that is on the side of his race car - Lowes.

Superman Jimmie Johnson Takes Pole While Teammate Mark Martin Looks for Kryptonite
Is there a race this weekend? With all the hype surrounding the induction of the first class into the NASCAR Hall of Fame most people have forgotten that the Chase is still going on and there is a race this Saturday night at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte with Jimmie Johnson taking the P1 position followed by teammate Mark Martin in P2.
My man Dale Earnhardt made it into the Hall of Fame by the way along with NASCAR founder Bill France and his son Bill France Jr., and driver/owners Junior Johnson and Richard Petty.

NASCAR takes the Chase to Kansas
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is headed to Kansas this weekend for the Price Chopper 400 presented by Kraft Foods. This 400 mile race should prove to be a little different than last week's race at Dover.
Dover provided us with some good racing, with a touch of drama in Joey Logano's huge wreck. Honestly, I can't remember the last time somebody rolled their car seven times or more at that track

The Chase is on: here are some predictions for the 12 drivers
Before Matt finishes his 5 parter I should add my 2 cents here first. Now this isn't my predicted final order, I'll do that when Matt is done his so we can compare and tell each other off or pat each other on the back - we'll see.
If you read between the lines though you'll get a good idea of where I expect everyone to finish anyway.
No go do the jump and see what I've got to say ...
